TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Ivy League Dog Boarding is committed to meeting the basic physical and physiological needs of your pet during its stay.
Food:
The client must ensure that the quantity of food provided is sufficient for the duration of the stay, otherwise the client is charged the cost of the additional food that Ivy League Dog Boarding provides. If the dog has any allergies, the client agrees to notify Ivy League Dog Boarding and provide appropriate treats.
Special care:
The client agrees to notify Ivy League Dog Boarding of any health problems or veterinary treatments specific to their pet. If medication must be administered to the dog during the stay, the client must provide the appropriate tools to administer the medication (treats, food, syringe, etc.). The client is responsible for the parasitic treatment of their pet and guarantees that their dog is free of fleas or parasites.
Diseases and accidents:
A dog suffering from diarrhea, vomiting, fever, cough, skin disease or any other potentially contagious health problem will be refused entry to Ivy League Dog Boarding. Any dog already on the premises that shows signs of coughing, sneezing, runny nose, or any other symptoms of illness will be isolated and given the opportunity for individual outings and playtime with a staff member (additional fees may apply). He/she may also be housed with the veterinarian to avoid contagion at Ivy League Dog Boarding (travel costs and veterinarian fees to be paid by the client as applicable). During the stay, the client authorizes Ivy League Dog Boarding to have access to the medical file of his animal and to consult a veterinarian if necessary.
In case of illness or injury during the stay, the client authorizes Ivy League Dog Boarding to proceed with the care or procedures deemed necessary by the veterinarian consulted. In case of illness and/or accident during the stay, if the dog requires veterinary care, the costs will be entirely at the client's expense.
Ivy League Dog Boarding will perform only basic examinations or procedures deemed necessary for survival and pain relief by the veterinarian.
Ivy League Dog Boarding will perform any additional procedures/examinations (in-depth examinations, surgeries, specific treatments, etc.) recommended by the veterinarian with authorization from the emergency contact on file.
Vaccination/health record:
Dogs in daycare or boarding must have their vaccinations up to date (or proof of certified equivalent), including kennel cough vaccine and to respect the 5-day waiting period following the administration of each vaccine if the previous vaccine was no longer effective. If the dog cannot receive one or more vaccines for a medical reason, a justification from the attending veterinarian must be provided and approved by Ivy League Dog Boarding prior to the animal's admission. Please note that it is possible for your dog to develop or contract a cough even if he/she is vaccinated. Ivy League Dog Boarding is not responsible for the medical care or consequences of coughing or any other contagious or non-contagious disease in boarders.
Behavior:
Contact with other dogs:
The health and safety of your pet is of the utmost importance to Ivy League Dog Boarding. Your dog’s safety is our first responsibility, and we take it very seriously. Because dogs are unpredictable animals, there is always a risk of injury, illness, or death when several dogs are in the same environment.
Understanding the risks involved, I authorize Ivy League Dog Boarding to bring my dog into contact with other dogs and I will not hold Ivy League Dog Boarding responsible for any injury, illness, or death of my pet.
I understand that the lack of contact with other dogs reduces some but not all the risk of illness, injury, or death to my pet, I will not hold Ivy League Dog Boarding responsible for any injury, illness or death to my pet.
Aggression or inappropriate behavior:
Even if the client determines that their dog is suitable for group play, Ivy League Dog Boarding reserves the right for evaluation prior to introduction to another dog. Ivy League Dog Boarding also reserves the right to exclude the animal from the playgroup at any time if the animal exhibits aggressive or inappropriate behavior when interacting with other dogs or with humans. Their pet will be given a reduced amount of free time and will be given the opportunity to go on individual outings and play periods (additional fees may apply).
Ivy League Dog Boarding must be notified of any known aggressive behavior (towards humans and other dogs) and reserves the right to not accept an aggressive dog. If during its stay the dog shows aggressive behavior towards humans, for safety reasons the staff of Ivy League Dog Boarding will not handle the dog. It will be penned and retrieved from its pen by its owner upon their return.
Responsibility:
The client is responsible for the actions of their animal, for any material and bodily damage, human and/or canine that it may cause. The client releases Ivy League Dog Boarding from any responsibility due to the conduct and/or actions of their animal. Please note that Ivy League Dog Boarding may ask for identification at any time when picking up the pet following a stay.
Delay:
If the pet cannot be picked up by the end of the day, the client agrees to notify Ivy League Dog Boarding as soon as possible. After the regular business hours of Ivy League Dog Boarding, the dog will automatically be placed in a boarding facility for the night and can be picked up the next day. If the dog is not picked up within 10 days after the scheduled departure date and the client has still not indicated his intention to pick up the dog, he/she then becomes the property of Ivy League Dog Boarding. The dog will be placed for adoption and all extras (stay, food, veterinary care and procedures, adoption to an ethical shelter) will be the responsibility of the client.
Photo/Video:
The pet owner agrees that Ivy League Dog Boarding may take photos and/or videos of the pet and agrees that these photos and/or videos may be used for advertising or training purposes.
